Identifying safety and security vulnerabilities can be a difficult task. A Security Assessment can help identify existing best practices, potential vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement. Before making recommendations, we look at more than the just the building itself.

A-Train Tactical can review local crime data, prior incidents, and perceived threats to better understand the types of incidents your organization may face. This information can help provide context when developing a threat assessment and evaluating your existing security measures.

During the site visit, we look at your property using Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and strategies, including natural surveillance, access control, territorial reinforcement, maintenance, and activity support. Depending on the facility, this may include parking lots, landscaping, lighting, entrances and exits, doors and locking hardware, security cameras, alarm systems, emergency communications, emergency equipment, and other security and life-safety features. We can also review policies, procedures, staffing practices, and day-to-day operations that may affect your organization's ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from a critical incident.

Following the assessment, A-Train Tactical can provide your organization with a written Security Assessment & Recommendations Report (SARR). The report documents our observations, identifies potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement, and provides recommendations for your leaders to consider. Some recommendations may involve simple changes to policies, procedures, or existing practices, while others may involve physical security improvements or new technology. Not every recommendation will be appropriate for every organization.

A documented assessment may also be useful when applying for certain grants that require a security or vulnerability assessment to support proposed security improvements. While no assessment can identify every vulnerability or eliminate every risk. The goal is to provide you with useful information to help identify priorities and make informed decisions.
